Understanding and Supporting Autistic People - 9th and 10th September 2021
This course builds your knowledge of autism and how to support autistic children and adults and is based on the SPELL framework.
SPELL is a framework for understanding and responding to autistic people’s needs. It will allow you to develop better practice and use evidence-based strategies to support autistic children and adults.
Our interactive virtual training delivery model ensures we are proud to deliver the exact same learning outcomes for you as our face-to-face training course, in a learner-friendly and accessible way.
This course is 1.5 hours twice a day for two days, via webinar.
PLEASE NOTE: You need to attend both days and all sessions.
Dates:
9th September - 10.00 till 11.30am and then 13.00 till 14.30
and
10th September - 10am till 11.30am and then 13.00 till 14.30
Course Content
- The main areas of difference in autism (social communication and interaction, sensory processing, information processing)
- How does autism affect people’s lives?
- Causes of anxiety and stress.
- Introduction to the SPELL framework.
