From 16th August, people in England who have had two Covid jabs will not be legally required to isolate for 10 days if they have contact with a positive case.
Instead of isolating, if you have had 2 vaccine doses or are under 18, and identified as a close contact of a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) case, you will be advised to get a free PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test as soon as possible.
People who test positive or show symptoms will still be required to self isolate for 10 days.
